Pie-maker UpperCrust is set to introduce a range of seasonal gastro pies in the UK for a limited time from 8 May.

The company stated that the first product in the 'Seasonal Specials' range will be the Chicken & Pesto Pie, UpperCrust's spring line.

The Chicken & Pesto Pie is a deep filled pie with tender chicken pieces and sliced cherry tomatoes in a pesto sauce and encased in short crust pastry with a light and flaky puff pastry top.

UpperCrust Chicken & Pesto Pie will be available as a 400g frozen two-pack, exclusively at Tesco and will be priced at £2.

UpperCrust spokesperson David Girdler said that the Chicken & Pesto Pie is the first product in the new seasonal gastro pies line, bringing seasonal recipes and quality ingredients to the frozen pie market throughout the year.

"The seasonal collection will offer consumers an alternative and is ideal for occasion purchase as it offers something different with its contemporary, fresh flavours. The UpperCrust Seasonal Specials will appeal to adults and families alike," Girdler added.

UpperCrust, a part of the 2 Sisters Food, is involved in manufacturing of pies and pastries.
